July 29, 1030 (A.D.) — Óláfr Haraldsson (a.k.a. King Olaf II of Norway) is killed in the Battle of Stiklestad. Believed by many among the faeries to be a Pendragon despite the notable absence of Excalibur in any identifiable form, King Olaf II had united much of Norway either by defeating lesser rulers or outright crushing resistance. His reign enforced the acceptance of Christianity (for which he was later canonized), but he can hardly be said to have been popular, being so brutal to his enemies that eventually a small but fierce contingent of pookas found themselves aiding their farmers in battle against him, much to the annoyance of the faeries who were on his side. As if this schism weren’t bad enough, King Olaf was convinced by his gnomish consultant that leaning against a handy rock to take a short lunch break during the middle of the battle would be a good idea.

The new version of ComicPress tossed out some settings and a lot of the stylesheet customization I had done; I’ve got most of it back in place now … at least until another update comes along. Oy!
Sorry ’bout that!
